Definition of Sustainable development is utilizing resources at present without damaging on them for future generation. The tourism which specially promotes this statement known as sustainable tourism. Sustainable tourism included several tourism sectors such as Ecotourism etc.

First most characteristic, the sustainable tourism is a nature based tourism. Therefore it has a natural destination not like other mass tourism etc. It promotes natural awareness and respect. it tries to mitigate environmental damages and minimize impacts, such as exceeding carrying capacity etc. This tourism supportes the improvement of social, economic and environmental development equally. Therefore all three parties are given benifits.

Sustainable tourism also provides positive experiences for both vistors and hosts. And also people around the host known as local community. It is important. Visitors are to be taught early about the place to be visited, and when even entering to the place they are allowed groups and it minimise exceeding carrying capacity. Therefore this tourism does not suit for all but only for special group of people.

Next most important characteristic is, providing financial prop in order to build the environment. It proves, environmental conversation is promote throgh sustainable tourism. As an example is when tourist enters to a park, he has to pay for a ticket, and part of that money is to be allocated for conservation. And also hosts and local community have involved in conversation due to their occupation is beautify of nature around.

Then local community is also empowered. They are given some authority of guidance and other related activities. It promotes sustainable concept. It helps to enhance the standard of lives of people specially in rural areas.

Most important character of sustainable tourism is helped to raise sensitivity to host countries , political, environmental and social climate. If country is a natural hotspot sustainable tourism helps to protect it. Somehow sustainable tourism does not only concern on environmental related things, but also development of rural areas, enhancing education of children of rural areas etc, are also fulfilled. And also many more aims can be identified towards sustainable tourism.
